Around the world in 2,000 pictures captures striking shots of famous sites in cities around the world such as Berlin, Paris, and Shanghai, among many others. Another bacon flavored post friends....

JONES soda just announced a new flavor in their carbonated arsenal, Bacon. See the bottle on the left? Notice the label? That's Thee Ted Smith (from Seattle's radio show The Men's Room) dressed in a bacon suit charging down Pike Street, shot by yours truly. A few months back the guys at J&D foods asked me to take him around the city and put him in iconic Seattle settings and shoot away. There are no words to describe how insanely ridiculous and fun it was.

So the next time you're in the grocery store swing by the soda isle and snag one of these beauties...although I can't guarantee you'll love the taste, I'm pretty sure you'll dig the label. :)

well, the day has almost come....Patrick and i are hittin' the road for 11 days of adventure down the california coast. our plan is to haul buns the first day straight down to Grants Pass and then just meander our way down the coast, stopping wherever we fancy... no set schedules...no deadlines...just flying by the seats of our designer jeans.

aww, i can picture it now....food, wine, redwoods, beaches, friendly faces, tons of photos and memories memories memories. my excitement is beyond exciting. and at the risk of sounding cheesy, for me this trip is more about the journey and less about the destination....which, at this moment in my life, seems more than appropriate.

so, if you live along this pretty little blue line let me know, perhaps a glass of road wine is in order. or if you've done this road trip yourself, any words of advise? anywhere that we should absolutely stop?

ok, well maybe not photojournalism per se but exciting nonetheless.

a while back Justin of the Bacon Salt empire asked me to shoot a mock gallery opening for a bust of Kevin Bacon made out of...yup, Bacon. of course i jumped at the opportunity being that 1. i love bacon and 2. some of my shots would end up on the interwebs and that bacon lovers across the country would see my work and thus thrust me into the spot light as bacon photographer extraordinaire. ok, again...maybe not bacon photographer extraordinaire but photos in an AOL article at the very least.

anywho, i am thrilled to share with you a screen shot of the article with one of the said photos and to ask that you visit the ebay auction and throw down a bid on BKB because in the end, it's all for a good cause. oh and it's there that you can see a great shot of Patrick and BKB sharing a "moment."

this last weekend i shot down to the LA area for a lovely weekend with my besties and to attend the baby shower of the incredibly gorgeous preggerlady Jenny. i was also honored to take some amazing maternity shots of her that i'm still working on but will share them as soon as i'm finished...so stay tuned for those.

in the meantime i wanted to post a few shots from our quick preflighthome afternoon in venice beach....what a circus that place is...and i say that with nothing but love cause i love me a good circus sans clowns.

looking forward to going back and taking my time with it, because it literally felt like we were in another country...and lord knows i love to travel abroad. :)

mmmm.....my stomach is growling just thinking about them. we were lucky enough to be invited over to Patrick's sister Carrie's house (how's that for a mouth full) for a lovely surprise birthday dinner for her mother in law Joyce. they had a chef come in and cater an amazing dinner... the first course? figs and goat cheese with a balsamic reduction. to be perfectly honest, i had never tried a fig in my life and was a little hesitant (since strange fruity thingies are usually not my bag) but as soon as the first bite hit my mouth i knew that these little nuggets of goodness were going to be gracing my kitchen very soon. they're not only tasty but really lovely to look at...and i LOVED how he plated them.

last weekend we headed down to the Oregon coast to help celebrate the union of my most favorite Amsterdam dwelling couple of all time, Scott and Johanna. we danced, we laughed, we cried and we had a spectacular time. congrats again to Bowmans!

and on our way home we took a little detour to drive down the beach in Long Beach, WA....and we came across what appeared to be a sea-gull convention. all that was missing were little bird sized name tags.

what a fun thing to do on father's day or on any other day for that matter. if you haven't been and you like history (even just a little) or you find impressive displays of engineering fascinating, or you just love making your dad's or anyone else who's obsessed with aviation's day.... i highly recommend heading down there.

i was lucky enough to have both of my important men with me. patrick and my dad reg. it was like watching two kids in a candy shop. and for me, it was a great day of good ol' picture taking.

hello friends! my apologies for being so mia the past couple of weeks. lots has been happening. but all very good and exciting.

this week i was fortunate enough to attend E3 with my company WB Games. there, the Studio that i work for, Snowblind Studios, unveiled the project that they have been working so hard on for the past year and a half, Lord of the Rings: The War in the North. the trip was a huge success and the game was loved by critics! so a huge WOO HOO for my fellow co-workers!

anyway, i was asked to cruise around this massive game convention and document what i saw. after 2 days at this event i ended up with 500+ images to sort through. there was so much to see and all of it....

like the crazy "jet setting" kids that we are, patrick and i decided we weren't going to sit around seattle and wait for the sun to come to us but that we were going to track down those elusive rays for ourselves... where ever they may be.

after a few weather checks in cities to the north, south, and west....we loaded up our gear and headed east. our little adventure took us all the way to chelan and back. too bad this girl caught a strange flu-thingy along the way. good thing my camera doesn't mind getting sneezed on. :)

well, the art opening was on friday and the pieces will be up for the remainder of may. i'll be honest, although i was pretty nervous about putting my work out there for the SAAS art world to see, it was pretty ef'n cool seeing my little babies out on display like that.

it blows my mind that one year ago i never would have imagined myself doing ANYTHING like this. so here's to surprising ourselves ;)

last week i was listening to my favorite podcast radio lab and they featured an up and coming two person band named Buke and Gass. after listening to a couple of their songs i couldn't believe that it was only two people making all that noise. apparently their name comes directly from the instruments that they use....a Buke, which is the bass version of a ukulele (she plays it) and the Gass which is literally a guitar/bass hybrid (that he plays.) they also use a kick drum and an assortment of bells on her ankles to achieve their full and chaotic sound.
interesting stuff....

anyway, i really hope we'll be hearing more from these two....cause i'm diggin' it.

this pretty lady posted a preview for the movie 'lost prophets' and i instantly had to find out who was singing the hauntingly soulful song in it. turns out it's a band called Dawes. i have a sneaking suspicion that these guys will end up sitting at the top of my list of "bands i'll never get sick of"..... right next to Bon Iver.

well, the time has come. after years of reading and following them, i'm biting the internet bullet and finally making one of my own...a blog.

i'm hoping to use this as a place to share what photos i'm working on, what makes me laugh and random thoughts and suggestions. i won't bore you with deep personal details, because frankly, it's not really the stuff page turners are made of. but rather i'm going to put a few funnies, songs, new stories in front of you that you wouldn't have otherwise seen, heard or read. i can promise you it will be an awkward beginning but no doubt somewhat amusing.
